The department in Skive serves as the head office of XL-BYG ROSLEV. There is a big store for professionals, a project department, administration and an open lumber yard with several halls that enjoy passing traffic from lorries, tradespeople and local DIYers and their trailers. The domicile in Skive includes 15,000 square metres under one roof and a large outdoor driving area, and is characterised by high activity from morning to night.
“We chose electric Linde E20 and Linde E35 models for our truck fleet, which has grown to include 31 Linde trucks. We have emphasised the compact design and the agility of the trucks, which ensure high handling capacity. The traction from the dual motor and Linde's combi steering axle provide good manoeuvrability, while the improved comfort and ergonomics appeal to the truck drivers,” says Aage Damgaard Mortensen, buyer at XL-BYG ROSLEV.
Upgraded Linde fleet
The 12 new Linde machines replace 12 older machines. Based on previous experience, expectations of Linde are high and the company prioritises reliability, technical quality and speedy service from N.C. Nielsen if its hears even the slightest misfire. The relationship with a local and well-known business partner has also played a role:
“We know N.C. Nielsen really well. They're just around the corner, we've visited the truck drivers in Balling and they’ve held our hand throughout the entire process. We value the importance of safety, security and trust in a good business partner over many years. These are things we need, as we are dependent on a ready-to-run truck fleet in our daily operations,” emphasises Aage Damgaard Mortensen.
Documented environmental performance
The electric Linde trucks have been chosen for both environmental reasons and health and safety reasons. The choice aligns with the desire to optimise energy consumption at XL-BYG ROSLEV as well as the ability to document this in the company's ESG reporting. The goal is to meet the increasing demands for carbon reductions, act broadly as a green company and make it easy for customers to make sustainable choices.
“We need to push all the buttons we can. We have an increasing focus on environmentally friendly solutions and the Linde electric truck fits into that picture very well. We have a number of tools to measure and monitor the green efforts of the trucks, such as data from the customer portal Yourfleet and a charger timer that can charge the machines with electricity when it is cheapest,” concludes Aage Damgaard Mortensen.
