Sustainability is a strategic focus area for Dansand. The company is a signatory to the UN Global Compact and committed to energy management, including by phasing out the use of plastic in its packaging and working to ensure biodiversity at its locations. Dansand will publish its first ESG report in 2024. It is also investing heavily in new production equipment with sustainability and responsible production in mind.
“The Linde machines are part of our green transition. We want energy-efficient solutions everywhere in our organisation, including our truck fleet. We focus on a good working environment and the new Linde trucks play a major role in creating a safe, secure and comfortable working day for our employees,” says Marketing Manager Pernille Riise Høgsberg from Dansand.
The Linde electric trucks have solved several challenges at Dansand. Unlike their predecessors with lead-acid batteries, Linde machines with Lithium-ION batteries can last a full day of high intensity work. They also easily handle the temperature in unheated halls and outdoor areas where the cold can bite in the colder months. The batteries are low-maintenance and can also be charged during breaks:
“The Linde electric trucks can run for 11-12 hours on one charge, which is a big win. We have chosen a solution with a charging socket at the rear of the truck, so it can charge without having to open the battery. All in all, Lithium-ION batteries have made it easier and more time-saving. In the long term, we expect lower electricity consumption and therefore also lower CO2 emissions,” says Pernille Riise Høgsberg.
The Dansand charging station is a pure ‘plug and play’ solution, where the forklift operator only needs to reverse the truck into the box and place the charger directly in the rear of the truck. Five new Linde E25 electric trucks with Lithium-ION batteries have optimised internal logistics at Dansand and will also support the company's green profile.
The truck models are chosen with easy entry and exit to avoid unnecessary driver fatigue. Good visibility, an adjustable driver's seat, ergonomically correct instruments and a solid roof with armoured glass ensure comfort, safety and convenience throughout the working day.
“We chose the latest Linde technology and Lithium-ION batteries for the machines as we wanted to have the best conditions for our work. We value a good working environment and are happy to listen to the individual wishes of our forklift drivers. They can have a real influence on their own working day and enjoy driving the Linde trucks,” says Pernille Riise Høgsberg.
