Reliable, high-performing forklifts play a central role at Keflico. Experienced warehouse specialists ensure flexible handling of timber products, which are delivered to Danish construction sites and the wood-consuming industry via their “Wonders of Wood” trucks. The electric Linde forklifts are the backbone of Keflico’s internal logistics, efficiently transporting everything from large planks to boards, decking, and cladding materials on these quiet machines.
Keflico took a thorough approach to the selection process. Two years ago, they contacted several forklift suppliers, inviting them to propose solutions. Site visits were made, test drives were arranged, and all Keflico’s warehouse staff assessed the advantages and disadvantages of each forklift. After testing, two brands stood out, and following negotiations, Keflico decided to invest in ten electric Linde forklifts from N.C. Nielsen.
For Keflico employees, the forklifts are their mobile offices and crucial workplaces in a busy day filled with various logistics tasks. Keflico places a strong emphasis on job satisfaction, optimal working conditions, and individually tailored solutions for their employees:
– Ergonomics and comfort are essential. Lower entry points mean our staff steps in and out rather than climbing up and down, which improves health and safety by reducing the risk of back and knee injuries. Additionally, the new Linde forklifts are equipped with the best seats available. The "summer door" or folding door makes it easier to let in the warmth or keep out the cold, says Logistics Manager Jens Egsdal Laursen from Keflico.
The eight Linde E35 and two Linde E45 electric forklifts were also chosen for their energy-efficient operation and charging flexibility, enabling charging when electricity prices are lowest. All the new Linde forklifts operate with Lithium-ION batteries from N.C. Nielsen, providing an environmental benefit that aligns with Keflico’s overarching sustainability strategy.
– We have initiated several measures to move our company in a more sustainable direction. We are therefore pleased that the new Linde forklifts run on Lithium-ION batteries. We expect the batteries to help reduce our carbon footprint by approximately 5,000 kg CO2 annually. It is important for Keflico to make impactful changes where we see potential for significant ESG improvements, emphasizes Logistics Manager Jens Egsdal Laursen.
